Achieving SEO Success: 120 Articles in Six Months for 45,000 Monthly Visitors
Hello SEO Enthusiasts,
I’d like to share an enlightening experience I had while working on an SEO project for a client back in 2019. Over a period of six months, we strategically published a total of 120 articles, and the results were remarkable—our client’s website eventually reached 45,000 monthly visitors.
The Content Strategy
Our approach was methodical. Each month, we released 20 articles, of which 15 comprised 1,000 words each, while the remaining 5 were in-depth pieces at 3,000 words. We positioned the longer articles as pillar pages, with the shorter ones serving as supportive content.
For the first three months, we focused primarily on long-tail keywords, gathering topic ideas from platforms such as Reddit and Quora. This crowdsourcing of ideas proved invaluable. Interestingly, we didn’t engage in any manual backlinking; instead, we emphasized strong internal linking, averaging 3 to 4 links in each article to enhance navigation and SEO.
Continued Growth
We maintained this intense schedule of publishing 20 articles every month for an additional six months. When we revisited the data with Google Analytics, we found that the website’s traffic had skyrocketed from a mere 300 monthly visitors to an impressive 45,000. At the project’s start, the site only had 13 articles, but the rapid growth was a testament to our content strategy.
To my surprise, just recently, I learned from a contact at the company that they now enjoy 170,000 monthly visitors. What’s even more remarkable is that they’ve added only five new articles since our contract ended over two years ago.
The Takeaway
This experience reaffirmed my belief in the power of consistent, high-quality content creation. If you’re looking to boost your website’s visibility and traffic, consider adopting a similar content strategy.
