Discovering the Best SEO Tools: Introducing FindSEOTools.com

During the recent lockdown, I found myself with some extra time and a growing curiosity about the vast array of SEO tools available. This led to the creation of a new resource: a dedicated directory for SEO tools, accessible at findseotools.com.

With a few years of experience in the SEO landscape, I’ve come to realize just how many tools are utilized by agencies, in-house teams, and freelancers alike. While some tools dominate the market, there are numerous hidden gems that deserve more attention.

Over the past few days, I’ve put several hours into compiling and reviewing a list of nearly 400 SEO tools. In this process, I filtered out those that were poorly maintained, overly aggressive in their tactics, or simply spammy. As a result, the final selection comprises just under 200 carefully curated tools. Although this directory is far from exhaustive, I encourage visitors to contribute suggestions via the form on the site.

While I can’t claim to have personally tested every tool, I have highlighted a selection of my go-to tools with stars (⭐) for quick reference.

The Creation Process

Creating the site was an interesting challenge. Developed as a single-page application, it might not look like what you’d typically expect from an SEO-focused project, especially with URL fragments (#) and a lack of ‘nofollow’ links.

My goal was to produce a minimum viable product (MVP) with minimal coding and investment, all within a tight weekend timeline amidst other commitments. For this purpose, I utilized carrd.co, a platform I already had a subscription for, and found it to be remarkably cost-effective. If this resource proves valuable to its users, I may consider migrating to a more advanced platform in the future.

Future Enhancements

Looking ahead, there are several improvements on my radar, including:

  • An advanced filtering system including pricing options
  • Customized tool descriptions
  • User reviews for enhanced insights
  • Improved Search Engine Optimization for better visibility

I welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions you might have. Feel free to leave a comment on this blog post or reach out to me directly on Twitter (@kimdewe). Your feedback is invaluable as I continue to refine this resource!
