Impact of Using “Projects” Instead of “Posts” on SEO: Insights Needed
Hello everyone,
I recently launched a new website utilizing WordPress and the Divi theme, though I’m still in the early stages of development. As part of the site setup, my developer opted to configure the blog section with “Projects” rather than the conventional “Posts.”
This decision has raised some concerns regarding its potential impact on Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
My intention is to publish bilingual blog articles that I will write manually, and I’ve chosen Polylang Free for managing these translations. However, during my research, I discovered some troubling information: it appears that popular SEO plugins, such as Yoast and Rank Math, are primarily designed to optimize the native “Posts” and “Pages.” This raises several questions about the effectiveness of my current configuration.
I’m seeking your insights on the following:
- Will utilizing Projects instead of Posts adversely affect my site’s SEO?
- Are there risks associated with this setup, such as:
- Inadequate indexing by Google?
- Reduced visibility in search results related to blogs?
- Complications with feeds or featured snippets?
- Compatibility issues with SEO tools like Yoast or Rank Math?
Given these concerns, would you suggest transitioning all my content to standard Posts before moving forward with further development?
I would greatly appreciate feedback, especially from those experienced in SEO, web development, or working with Divi in multilingual environments.
Thank you for your assistance!
