What Can Affiliates Teach Us About SEO?

The thing about affiliates is that they are at war, and they are at war for SERP rankings because that is how they make their money. This means that they are unlikely to be using SEO companies - they are fighting an SEO war on their own means, for the same turf as every other affiliate for the same fee.

What all of this means is that they are the perfect yardstick by which we can measure and understand what really effects Google without a lot of SEO company hooey.

You see, an SEO company want you to believe that hard graft and endless posting is what will give you the best results online. That there are no shortcuts and that everything has to be built-up slowly and carefully. Well why wouldn't they say that? it is exactly what Google says will get you to the top on Google Search so why wouldn't you believe them?

Well part of the reason you should take whit with a pinch of salt is that if Google search ranking and indexing did have any short cuts to get to the top it would mean that SEO companies, and indeed that whole industry, would suddenly be at risk. Secondly it would mean that all of the AI investment and other highly published use of potential shareholder money would be questionable and the real 'intelligence' of AI would be put under serious scrutiny.

In other words, if Google turned out to be a lot easier to scale than they pretend, it would mean that you can go viral on Google search just like you can on YouTube.

Going Viral on Google Search

The most interesting affiliates that we can have a look at are those competing over the biggest rewards and unfortunately this tends to be those involved with fast moving, high risk affiliate marketing such as CFD trading and options trading. Now these are illegal to solicit in some countries and so the real product can be disguised by certain types of products known as crypto-trading robots

All of these facades for various trading scams are based on the affiliate marketing system which means zero SEO budget and maximum competition. This is where every experiment possible is carried out from every continent of the world and anything goes! There are no ethical white-hat SEO rules here. If it gets you the deal, then you got it! If it works, everyone else will be copying you within a month and someone will have to find another way of getting ahead. in short, this is the Formula One of SEO.

the Toughest SEO Markets

So here we have it, the toughest SEO markets on Earth because everyone plays by the same rules. These rules are very simple. No investment, anything goes, maximum cash out per day is the winner. It is the Wild West of the Internet!

So how does it work? What gives someone an edge in a market where everyone fights over the same keyword phrases and everyone gets a new product name and set of keywords every month?

Let's start out by looking at Facebook as this is where the affiliate sponsors start their game.

So the latest fake news concerning trading and investments appears to revolve around a product and website that have been around for a long time - Immediate Edge. Now one of the oldest Immediate Edge websites is the immediateedgepro.com website and that appears to be ranking top on Google even though on Microsoft Edge you receive a warning when you try and access the site:

Immediate Edge 3.0: The Toughest SEO Market

Which means that enough Windows and Microsoft Edge users have reported this website for it to be an obvious scam and yet Google still rank it at the top of the unsponsored results:

Immediate Edge 3.0: Number One on Google SERPs

Analyzing the Immediate Edge 3.0 Page

We can see from some basic searches that the LSI keywords they are interested in are as follows:

trading  54

Corresponding images and descriptions to sections are also important - each chapter has an image with the exact same title next door to promote the idea that they have supplied an image explaining that particular section. They do not bother with links to each section and they do not have a significant number of pages on the website. This whole website is dedicated to Immediate Edge and that may be a factor too. Review sites obviously mention ever supposed trading platform but this site is only concerned with the Immediate Edge incarnation.

Immediate Edge 3.0: Analyzing the Number One Ranking Page for Immediate Edge

crypto  15
immediate edge  34
Regist  13
Trade  19
market analysis  6
Analysis  8
Algorithm  7
Interface  4
Security  6
platform  5
Profit 6
Fund  5

Their image above has been similarly entitled with the chapter name so that we can see what happens to the ranking of this page for the Immediate Edge keywords but we need to start thinking about all of the keywords such as trading and crypto so that we can make sure that the page appears exactly as this page does to Google on the same subject. We need to come up with our own set of keywords concerning ranking on Google so and somehow ensure that they will be just as relevant to Google as the Immediate Edge keywords are.

So it is time to start building our own Immediate Edge page so that we can begin to compete with the affiliates and see how we can climb to a decent place amid their ranking war.
