Troubleshooting Core Web Vitals and Sitemap Issues in WordPress
As a website owner, encountering sudden changes in your website’s performance can be quite alarming. Recently, I experienced a concerning situation within my WordPress site: after a consistent posting routine, I noticed a dramatic drop in my site’s visibility in Google Search Console.
Over the span of three days, all of my posts seemingly vanished from the index, leaving only the domain accessible. A crucial diagnostic tool, Core Web Vitals, indicated that there were zero “good” URLs identified. Strangely, it showed no “needs improvement” or “poor” URLs, leading to further confusion. Additionally, the posts were not linking to any referring sitemaps, nor were they tracking any posts as referring pages—only the domain itself remained.
In response, I took the initiative to re-submit my sitemap in an attempt to rectify the situation. However, after waiting another three days for any changes, the problem persisted without resolution.
If you have experienced a similar issue or have insights on how to restore indexed pages and improve Core Web Vitals performance, I would greatly appreciate your input. Your expertise might shed light on potential solutions or steps to take that I may have overlooked. Thank you for your assistance in navigating this challenge!
