Navigating the “Crawled – Currently Not Indexed” Dilemma
As a webmaster or digital marketer, encountering the frustrating status of “Crawled – currently not indexed” for your web pages in Google Search Console (GSC) is a common yet perplexing challenge. I recently faced this issue with a site hosting around 90 pages, all stuck in this limbo with no apparent technical faults.
Upon examining the situation, I utilized GSC’s “Test Live URL” feature, which suggested that the pages in question were indeed eligible for indexing. I found no noindex
directives, the robots.txt
file is functioning correctly, and Google can access the pages without struggle. Additionally, my sitemap has been submitted and appears to be in order.
With the essentials seemingly in check, I turned my attention to potential underlying factors that might be influencing this indexing problem. Could the quality of the content on these pages be lacking? Are there other areas I might be overlooking that could impact their visibility?
I’m reaching out to the community to see if anyone has encountered a similar scenario and, if so, what solutions or advice you might have. Your insights would be invaluable as I work to resolve this indexing issue and enhance the performance of the site. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
