Navigating a Facebook Blacklisting: Is It Time for a New Website?
Recently, my five-year-old website encountered a significant setback: Facebook blacklisted it, and this action also led to the suspension of my access to Shopify payments due to a non-compliant product. This unfortunate situation has prompted me to consider a major revamp – specifically, the creation of a new website.
I took proactive steps and launched a new site, ensuring to exclude the problematic product while maintaining the general structure and content that attracted my existing audience. Currently, my original site averages around 50 monthly product subscribers and sees between 250 and 350 sales. Unfortunately, those numbers have taken a significant hit since losing access to Shopify payments. Despite this, the site still holds strong rankings for several key search terms, making it a valuable asset.
My plan moving forward involves transferring the high-ranking blog articles to the newly established website. Additionally, I intend to block Google from indexing the old site to prevent duplicate content issues.
Now, I’m left pondering a few critical questions: Is this approach a sound strategy, or am I making a costly mistake? Furthermore, will I have to restart my Google Ads campaigns from scratch, or can I retain some of the momentum built on my previous site?
I welcome any insights or experiences from others who have faced similar challenges, as navigating this transition feels complicated but necessary. Your thoughts could help illuminate the best path forward!
