Enhancing Image Descriptions for Your Photography Website: Seeking Advice

Hello, fellow photography enthusiasts!

I made the transition from SS to Format for my photoblog late last year, and I’ve been diligently working to get everything set up. However, I must admit that I often struggle to dedicate long stretches of time to focus on my projects.

Currently, I’m quite pleased with the galleries I’ve created and the images within them. My next goal is to refine the image descriptions. In the past, while using SS, I was advised to rename my images using various keywords for improved searchability. However, Format seems to emphasize more descriptive captions for images, which I think is a great approach. I want to ensure I’m implementing this effectively.

I have a couple of questions as I move forward:

  1. Is it still beneficial to rename each image using keywords, or is that strategy outdated in this context?
  2. What’s the best way to structure image descriptions? For instance, if I feature an image of a musician, should the description simply include their name and the venue? If I have multiple images of the same musician, should I vary the descriptions significantly or keep them consistent?

I’ve been searching for guidance, but it often leads to general results that don’t directly address my situation with Format.

Thank you in advance for your insights! If this post isn’t suitable for this platform, please let me know how I can adjust it. Your help is greatly appreciated!
