Achieving First-Page Google Rankings for Multilingual Chat Applications: Our Experience
In recent weeks, we’ve been thrilled to see our website appear prominently on Google’s first page for keywords such as “multilingual chat” and “multilingual chat app.” We conducted searches from various locations—including Korea and Sweden—using Opera’s VPN to verify our rankings globally. While these screenshots can’t be shared here due to subreddit restrictions, we encourage you to perform similar searches to confirm our position.
How Did We Achieve This? A Reflection on Our Approach
Surprisingly, our success wasn’t driven by an intensive SEO campaign. Having spent over a decade working on Search Engine Optimization, I can say that this time, our focus was entirely different, yet the results were impactful.
Here’s an overview of our strategy:
-
Prioritizing Product Quality:
Our primary effort was dedicated to developing the best possible multilingual messaging app. Providing value through a high-quality product naturally attracts attention and increases organic visibility. -
Content Sharing and Distribution:
Instead of traditional SEO tactics, we focused on content marketing through organic channels. We published articles on our own blog and reposted three select pieces on my personal Medium account, ensuring each included canonical links to our website. Additionally, we shared three articles on my LinkedIn profile to reach a broader professional audience. -
Limited Outreach Efforts:
We did not engage in guest posting or outreach to other sites. Although I attempted to pitch four original articles to niche publishers, there was little interest—highlighting how challenging genuine outreach can be. -
No Country Targeting:
We did not focus on specific geographical markets; our content was available in multiple languages, and some blog posts were translated to reach diverse audiences. -
Time Investment:
All these efforts were spread over a period of approximately three months, emphasizing consistency and patience rather than aggressive SEO tactics.
Moving Forward: Reflecting on Improvements
If you were in our position, what alternative strategies might you consider? Potential avenues could include targeted outreach, strategic guest posting, or localized SEO efforts. However, our experience demonstrates that focusing on product quality and organic content distribution can significantly impact search rankings—even without elaborate SEO campaigns.
Final Thoughts
Our journey underscores the power of creating a valuable product and sharing authentic content over traditional or aggressive SEO techniques. Achieving a first-page ranking can sometimes be more about genuine value and consistency than about extensive backlinking or paid optimization. We look forward to
