Determining the Value of Your Backlink Services: A Guide for Aspiring Link Builders
Hello, fellow marketers,
If you’ve been involved in the world of link-building, whether through HARO (Help a Reporter Out), Connectively, or journalist outreach, you’re likely familiar with the complexities of pricing your services. Recently, I’ve found myself in an exciting yet puzzling situation. Despite working diligently in link-building—achieving a 20% conversion rate with backlinks boasting a Domain Rating (DR) of approximately 75 and impressive traffic figures of over 70,000—I’m contemplating transitioning this side hustle into a full-blown career.
Here’s the dilemma: I’m currently generating more income from this endeavor than from my primary job. This isn’t particularly impressive considering I’m based in a developing country, but it has ignited the thought that I might be able to elevate this into a sustainable full-time occupation. However, setting the right price for my backlinks has left me feeling uncertain.
My experience thus far has mostly revolved around collaborating with intermediaries who compensate me far less than what I believe my services are worth. It’s evident that there is a gap between the quality of backlinks I provide and the compensation I’m receiving. I’ve experimented with platforms like Upwork, but results have been underwhelming, and I’ve encountered frustrating situations where clients simply vanished after project completion.
I’m at a crossroads: should I continue seeking employment with an agency (having faced significant rejection due to geographic limitations), or is there a more viable path for acquiring clients on my own? This decision is crucial as I aim for growth and stability in my professional journey.
I’m reaching out to this community for insights. What strategies have you implemented to establish your rates? Do you have suggestions for attracting clients directly, rather than relying on intermediaries? Your advice and experiences would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this challenging but exciting transition.
Thank you in advance for your support!
