Why I’m Skeptical About NPD and Neil Patel’s Current Reputation

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a webinar hosted by NPD titled “Lessons Learned From Our Clients.” My primary goal was to gain insights on how to effectively enhance my business’s SEO strategies. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.

Firstly, the streaming quality was subpar, barely reaching 480p. More importantly, the content was filled with self-promotion rather than actionable insights. The primary takeaway seemed to be that Neil Patel and his team had successfully supported their clients, but I left feeling like I hadn’t learned anything practical to implement in my own SEO efforts.

Additionally, my prior experience with NPD raised some red flags. My company once engaged their services, and while they promised results, they only managed to secure five backlinks a month. In contrast, my team was able to generate around 15 backlinks ourselves, without any financial investment, and we did it more efficiently.

Their content creation also left much to be desired. They suggested targeting a keyword that was both highly competitive and had low search volume, which completely contradicted industry standards and the strategies they claim to advocate. After six months of promoting a blog post based on their recommendations, we saw a mere four organic visits.

I had also taken a look at their Ubersuggest tool in the past. Unfortunately, the tool produced a selection of keywords that seemed arbitrary and, quite frankly, fundamentally flawed. Common sense was enough to tell me the suggestions were not viable.

While I can acknowledge that Neil Patel’s blog contains valuable content, I can’t help but wonder how NPD continues to operate with such poor service quality. The disconnect between the acclaim they receive and the experience I had leaves me questioning their legitimacy and longevity in a crowded marketplace.
