Starting My SEO Freelance Journey: Seeking Your Insights!

Hello everyone,

As I embark on my journey into the world of SEO freelancing, I find myself seeking advice on how to secure my first clients. After encountering challenges in securing a full-time SEO position, I’ve pivoted to offer freelance services. I’ve created several websites for personal practice and am now confident in my ability to optimize local sites for search engines effectively.

I’ve zeroed in on a specific niche—though I’ll keep the details private for strategic reasons. With a week of active prospecting under my belt and a few lead generation strategies in play, I’m eager to learn from those who have navigated this path before me.

What strategies did you find effective in landing your very first client? Additionally, how long did it usually take you to close your first deal?

While the common suggestion is to approach local businesses directly—believe me, I’ve considered that—I’m particularly interested in exploring alternative avenues. I’m curious about lead nurturing techniques, innovative Gmail marketing tactics, and other unique methods to generate leads that may not be commonly discussed.

Any insights or experiences you could share would be immensely valuable. Thank you in advance for your support!
