The Search for Talent: A Frustrated SEO Agency Owner’s Perspective
Hello, everyone!
I’m Joe, the proud owner of a specialized SEO agency, and today, I’m channeling my frustrations into this blog post. After reflecting on my recent challenges hiring skilled professionals in the SEO field, I’m disheartened to report that the situation remains dire. Despite my thorough hiring process—complete with rigorous questions and careful vetting—finding someone who truly understands the nuances of SEO has proven to be a monumental task.
In a desperate bid to improve our client outcomes, I’ve taken on the responsibility of managing all 36 of our accounts using deep insights from Search Atlas. While this approach is not sustainable in the long run, it has started to yield positive results. It’s disheartening to think that even offering a lucrative salary of $150,000, alongside perks like unlimited vacation time and the flexibility to work from home, might still not attract the talent I need.
You might wonder why I’m airing my thoughts here. Perhaps it’s the hope of discovering that exceptional individual who will not only meet my expectations but exceed them. I am searching for someone hungry for opportunity—someone who is willing to step up and deliver outstanding results.
During my journey, I recall the grind that propelled me forward. I was relentless—making calls, enrolling in every SEO course I could find, and absorbing content from experts like Ruan on YouTube, whose charismatic delivery captured my attention. I still remember the thrill of ranking my first page at the top of the search results. I know all too well what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet while pursuing this passion, and it astonishes me that in 2025, the same drive seems to be diminishing among newcomers to the industry. Maybe I’m being too optimistic, but it feels like a rare quality these days.
So, if there are any aspiring SEOs out there with the talent and determination to rise above the rest, please reach out. The SEO universe is vast, and surely there’s someone ready to impress me.
Best regards,
Joe
