Troubles with Indexing? How I Resolved My Site’s Indexing Issues

If you’ve ever launched a website only to find that your pages aren’t being indexed by search engines, you’re not alone. I recently faced this exact issue with my long-established domain, which had undergone several transformations over the years, including a name change and a complete overhaul of the content.

For over a year, my website featured a persistent soft 404 error, displaying nothing but a blank page. Determined to turn things around, I decided to reboot the site entirely with a fresh installation of WordPress and a wealth of new content. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, only my homepage was being indexed. All other pages received a frustrating “Crawled – currently not indexed” status.

I tried various strategies to enhance my site’s visibility, including expanding the content and incorporating more localized keywords since my business is community-focused. Despite these efforts, the issue continued to persist.

After reaching out for guidance and exploring different solutions, I finally discovered that the problem stemmed from my old domain. To resolve this, I made the decision to transfer my website to a new domain while redirecting all old links properly. Amazingly, this simple yet decisive action allowed my site to be indexed immediately after the first few crawls.

If you’re facing similar challenges with your website’s indexing status, consider evaluating whether your domain might be a factor. Sometimes, a fresh start can be the key to unlocking your site’s potential. Thanks to the support from the community, I’m thrilled to share that my website is now fully indexed and operational.
