Navigating SEO Challenges: Questions from a Beginner

As a new website owner, diving into the world of SEO can be a daunting experience. Recently, I faced several hurdles with my site and sought some advice. If you’re in a similar situation, you might find my questions (and the insights that come with them) quite helpful.

Question 1: Understanding Impressions

Initially, my site garnered around 160 impressions daily after I indexed my pages. However, the numbers have recently hit rock bottom, now showing just five impressions per day, despite my extensive SEO optimization efforts over the past month. Is it common for new websites to experience such drastic fluctuations in impressions even after making positive changes?

Question 2: Indexing Issues with Google Search Console

As a beginner, I struggled with numerous plugins that cluttered my WordPress site. I encountered issues with duplicate pages and incorrect indexing. Although I believe I’ve resolved the problem and my sitemap now shows only nine pages, Google indicates I have 40 pages indexed and 120 that are not. How detrimental is this to my SEO? Should I take additional steps, or is it merely a matter of patience?

Question 3: The Impact of AI-Generated Images

I’ve started using AI-generated images for some of my content. Are there any SEO penalties associated with this practice? Is Google monitoring these types of images, and should I proceed with caution?

Question 4: Considering a Fresh Start

With the initial success I saw with impressions and now facing numerous indexing issues, I’m contemplating whether it would be beneficial to purchase a new domain as a fresh start. Is this a viable option, or should I persist with my current site?

Question 5: Optimizing Blog Pages for SEO

Currently, I utilize standard city blog pages for my content. Would it be more advantageous for SEO if I transitioned to using WordPress’s integrated blog pages instead?

Question 6: Specialization vs. Generalization

I’m considering honing in on a specific topic related to a city, which may necessitate removing some of my existing pages. Would focusing on a narrower niche be worthwhile for improving my SEO?

Seeking Solutions

Do any of you have practical solutions or advice for these challenges, or is my best bet to be patient while consistently creating quality content?

I appreciate any feedback and insights you can provide. If you’re interested in taking a closer look at my site, you can find the link in my profile. Thank you in
